State of Texas, TX, requires that contractors, builders and remodelers be registered with the Texas Residential Construction Commission before entering into a contractual obligation to build or remodel residential properties.

Banks and institutions that fund construction loans in Texas will not do so unless the builder/contractor is registered with the TRCC, and in good standing.

Builders/contractors who are not registered and engage in any type of residential construction project are subject to substantial fines.
